Whilst at Nokia World this year, I was asked by a Twitter friend James Burland to see if I could do a HDR of a person rather than just my usual Landscapes. So being the obliging chap I am, I thought I would give it a try. I managed to get Clinton Jeff, Editor in Chief of ZOMGit’sCJ and a good friend, not just from Twitter but from our N-gage days where we were both Elites.
It was a pretty hectic two days for CJ so we did not get much time to do this, so hopefully James will like the results. I have done a few edits of the bracketed images, more for fun really. When time permits I will attempt more edits.
It’s that time of year again, Nokia World 2011 is here. The same venue as last year in the Dockland’s, London. This journey has started very well with a business class upgrade on the flight there, thank you British Airways. After landing I met up with @jjklee from twitter, Jimmy Lee in real life, who I met last year at Nokia World. He had been waiting for several hours for me, good chap. After a minor debacle where we waited at the wrong terminal for @middleda to arrive, my fault entirely! We headed off to the Marriott, West India Quay to check in to the Hotel. A simple journey of Heathrow express to Paddington, then taxi to hotel
After a few months of gruelling torture, it has finally arrived in Finland. This is the device I have been looking forward to for as long as I can remember, now bear in mind I am getting on, so we are talking months here, not years. Now you will see a load of review posts about this device over the next few weeks. Not from me, sorry but I freely admit I am terrible at reviews. Instead I will concentrate on the camera with respect to still images, close-ups, HDR etc. Before we start, a couple of pics of my device itself, I know not really part of the post but it is just so damn good looking you just have to.
I am not going to ramble on about the camera, I have already done that in numerous posts, instead I will let the photo’s do the talking. Here are some of my favourites from my own collection over the past year and 11 days of Nokia N8 ownership. My N8 arrived at the flagship store in Helsinki on September 30th 2010, and of course I could not wait to test the camera. So my first photo is from that day.
Well the title says it all, a comparison of the camera ability between my Nokia E7 running Symbian Belle OS and the new Nokia 701 also running Symbian Belle OS. This is not intended to be a debate on AF vs EDoF, this is just to see if there are any improvements to the camera in the new Belle devices now available.
First up I took a few images in the early morning (in low light) of the sunrise
