I know a lot of people, myself included, do not really like fixed focus cameras. They limit your options too much in my opinion, but for some people they will be suitable. Essentially as long as you do not want to take Macro (close-up) images then EDoF (fixed focus) will meet your needs.
Landscape Images (unedited)
As with any other camera there are ways to get the best possible image. For me, when using the X7 for landscapes I use the same set up as with my beloved N8. Always select “Landscape mode” and set “Colour tone” to “Vivid”.
Landscape Images (Edited)
To edit any images I use Adobe Photoshop Elements 9, I am too cheap to buy the full Photoshop CS5. Maybe one day if I get good enough! Editing is something I am still playing with and learning as I go. Currently all I tend to play with is “Colour saturation, Hue and Lighting”.
Macro Images ????
Yes I know before you say it!! The X7 cannot do close ups, I even said it myself but you can something that is acceptable. Not really a macro image but for everyday use not too bad either.
Yes I know it’s not really a close-up. But for normal use it is just about acceptable. After all how many people with a mobile phone go around taking close-ups of everything. Not many and those that do, or want to, should just get a Nokia N8.
