Nokia recently released the Creative Studio for the Lumia Device range. How does it compare to the apps already available for the Lumia devices in the Marketplace?
Firstly what options are there? You can take a new picture, load one from your gallery or create a Panorama, or you can swipe across and select on of the Face Warps or Live Styles which then opens the camera for you to take a new image in that style.
Personally, my preference is to take a picture first before editing, this you can do for the effects but not for Face warp.
I have to say though the face warp is funky, as demonstrated here by Rodney.
So what filters are available, rather than just a list I have a photo edit using each one for you so you get the idea.
You have the option to adjust the “Light Intensity” and “Colour Intensity”.
You can of course choose not to use a filter at all and just use the editing functions of the application. Once you have selected your image and the filter screen opens just swipe across to “adjustments”. Here is one I did by reducing the exposure and using colour boost.
Or you can of course select a filter and then adjust the image, for instance playing with the colours. Here I applied the “dreamy filter”, then changed the colours.
Now with the colours changed
And again
You can of course do more editing, in “adjustments” you have the possibility to crop, rotate and edit contrast, sharpness, colour, exposure and apply a colour boost.
The final image can of course be shared to Facebook, Twitter or Flickr from within the application.
The panorama ability is really easy to use and very fast indeed, coming from Symbian you will amazed at how quick the stitch happens.
This is a great application and a must have on your Lumia device. Compared to some of the applications already available, this is really easy to use, it does not have as many filters as some, but then it is free. I hope Nokia continues its development and adds more filters and maybe even a HDR capability to the mix.
