Part Two

North Stradbroke Island

Our relatives took us for a day out to North Stradbroke Island, which is also in Moreton Bay. It is a much larger island but during off peak season times it has a lower population than Russell Island. This however balloons during the holiday season. Dunwich is the main town on the island, with Point Lookout and Amity Point making up the three main areas.

Part One – Russell Island

This holiday started as all others do, with a flight. Except this trip involved over 24 hours of travelling before we would reach our destination of Brisbane and then on to Russell Island. For those of you that do not know (and to be honest it will be most people as Russell Island is not really a tourist destination) Russell Island is located in Moreton Bay. Here is the Wikipedia page in case you are interested.

Anyway, the journey started with a 12 hour flight to Singapore on Finnair. Business class of course, we did a similar trip 7 years ago in economy and that was a killer, so not this time.
